No April isnt only the season where Spring typically comes but is one of my dearest friends from Oregon. She transplanted to New York from Berkeley California after finishing her Art History Degree looking for a change of pace and new opportunity. I would have to say she has found just that. An Oregon native, naturalist, and wonderful intuitive, has found a home here for herself. Now that spring is here, the tulips and trees are blooming in the city. We spent a wonderful afternoon walking around enjoying the sunshine. She is drawn across the river the the city of Brooklyn where she says you can actually see the roof tops. It is very true, much more spacious and wonderful. We cruised to an amazing thrift store and by the sister surf shop, Mollusk, to the one I worked at in Venice California and found our way to the Surf Bar for some day drinking. Of course, leave it to me to find a sand covered bar in Brooklyn. My califonian home here in New York. We caught up like best friends would with stories and laughter. She is finding her way in love and in work, all falling into place besides the expensive rent and the rough winter....which is now over. Her interview tonight will have us celebrating some more and crossing our fingers for her opportunity as a Galary Supervisor for one of the largest most historic art communities here. Good luck April and in April.
Also a great stop to see my good friend Caroline and April's room mate Alana. Thanks girls to the hospitality!
This is my layover on my way to my love in the Caribbean. A great stop, both heartfelt and inspiring. Back to the tropics and a life on the water.
I heart you.
